This year’s topic is Migration and Integration in Europe. The topic that we intended to consider over the course of the 4 days of Summer School was had not been chosen by accident, as in the process of globalization, as well as in the course of the European Union’s enlargement in the 21st century, Europe became one of the largest magnets in the world for an influx of legal and illegal immigrants.  The modern challenge to society in the field of security poses a new dilemma for all European states, including the Republic of Belarus – how is it possible to ensure interaction in the humanitarian, economic and cultural spheres of life in our society and how to enhance the process of integration of illegal immigrants into the life of a destination country and to prevent illegal immigration.

Summer School strived to revitalize the issue of migration and integration in the all-European context and welcomed the participation of all interested parties, primarily students and young professionals – economists, political analysts, sociologists and culturologists who would perhaps take an active part in the decision-making that may prove vital for our country in the field of economy, culture and humanitarian activity in the near future.

Information on the topics of Summer School was presented in the form of reports, workshops and presentations with the participation of guest experts both from Belarus and from abroad.

At the summer school we took a critical examination of the topic "Migration” as a pivotal issue for a modern society, an analysis of the effect of migration processes on the operation of societal and economic systems, familiarization with the principles of the process of integration of immigrants and stabilization of their social roles, the development of a model of conflict prevention between in-migrants and the indigenous population of Europe.
