On 4 October, the UN General Assembly held its High Level Dialogue on Interreligious and Intercultural Understanding. On that occasion, the official Summary of the Informal Interactive Hearing with Civil Society called the Earth Charter an “interesting example” for the “development of a code of conduct based on global ethics”.
On 13 November UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon also called on the people of faith to support the struggle against global warming. The Earth Charter Program on Religion and Sustainability heartily supports this call.
