OpenForum 4 "Mobility as a Form of Integration" took place in Pozarevac in Eastern Serbia, on 26-27 July 2008. Being part of the Art Interventions series the event was our first forum outside the genuine project cycles. Mobility and migration are part of the larger game of representation and power. What can be learned from the Gastarbajters’ example is that the importance of personal social status rises with the depression of communal social interaction. In an age of increasing spatial transgression and permanent relocation the role of places in creating reference points for communities comes into question. Can Europe be seen as a community of values? This and other questions were debated on 19-21 September by 22 young professionals from across Europe during OpenForum 5 in Prague. Citizens of Europe organised it together with the Prague-based European Values Association (Evropske Hodnoty). The conceptualization and defence of a genuinely European set of values formed the main focus of the debate. Topics addressed included the borders of tolerance and diversity accepted within a normative unity of values, as well as the importance of responsibility, Human Rights and creativity for the normative definition of the European society.
