Уважаемые коллеги! Участники прошлогоднего проекта Christmas card!
Новые участники!
Координатор проекта из Австралии Judy Barr обращается к вам зараннее и приглашает к участию. Обратите внимание на этот проект и подговьтесь с вашими детьми к участию в нем:
Last year I coordinated the Christmas card exchange project. It involved around 100 schools in 20 countries. Greeting cards were sent through the mail to arrive in time for Christmas, which is on December
25 in the Christian countries but later in January in Russian and some other locations. Schools in Taiwan highlighted the Chinese New Year and from schools in the US we learnt about Kwanzaa, Hanukkah and Halloween. This year I would like to encourage other countries to share their celebreations with us in the Holiday forum and learn about the celebrations in other countries by making and receiving cards and exchanging information, photos, recipes, traditions on the forums in the lead up to the celebrations at the end of 2007 or beginning of 2008. Each school will be placed in a group with seven partner schools and will make a commitment to send cards through the regular mail to each of their partners. In return they will receive cards from a number of countries and will be able to make a wonderful display for their school and local community. Last year the project was so successful in Suriname that they were featured on local television.
Many schools had reports or photos in their newpapers and loved learning about the schools in their group. I am writing to see if you would promote the Christmas card exchange this year to the member
schools in your country. I am encouraging non-Christian
schools/countries to join the project by calling the project the Greeting card project if they prefer. It was great to receive Chinese New Year cards last year. Perhaps this year we may receive Hanukkah, Eid, Kwanzaa or something else. Who knows? Countries involved last year were Australia, Belarus, Benin, Bulgaria, Canada, England, Georgia, Ghana, India, Lithunia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Suriname, Taiwan, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, USA. New countries that have registered for the first time already this year are Pakistan, Japan and France. Perhaps your country will be the next new one! IF teachers would like to join please ask them to send me the following information. Early registration increases the chances of being grouped with students of a similar age. I prefer to have groups of primary schools only or secondary schools only but later when schools register in smaller number this cannot be guaranteed. Several Russian and Taiwanese schools provided addresses in their own languages by attaching a jpg file. This was a most successful way of ensuring that the cards reached their destination.
